Mary Kom ranked 3rd as 8 Indian …

Eyeing her second medal from the Olympics, six-time world champion Mary Kom has been placed third in 51kg as a total of 8 Indian women pugilists were ranked in the top 10 by AIBA in what has been a stellar show by the women boxers. Two-time World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain was also third in 69kg but it was the young World Championships silver medallist Manju Rani who stole the show with a No. 2 ranking in 48kg.

Jamuna Boro, a bronze medallist at the world event, was placed 5th in 54kg with Sonia Chahal (57kg, 4th), Simranjit Kaur (64kg, 6th), Pooja Rani (81kg, 8th) and Seema Poonia (+81kg, 6th) being the other Indian women pugilists ranked inside the top 10.
