13 National Teams gathered in Assisi, Italy to prepare their male and female boxers for the Olympic Qualifying tournaments. India sent 13 of its top boxers to this intensive 12-day training camp where exhibition bouts and sparring sessions were hosted by the Italian National Boxing Training Center.
While 6-time world champion Mary Kom led the women’s brigade, the men were led by World Championships silver medalist Amit Panghal. The sessions gave the Indian contingent a huge boost of confidence right before the Olympic Qualifiers to be held a month later.
