Continuing India’s tradition of winning medals at the oldest international amateur boxing competition in Europe, Indian boxers began the 2020 season well at the Strandja Cup in Sofia, Bulgaria.
India grabbed a total of three medals with Commonwealth Games bronze winner Mohammed Hussamuddin (57kg) and four-time Asian Championships medallist Shiva Thapa (63kg) bringing home a silver and a bronze respectively.
Among the women, former World Championships silver winner Sonia Lather (57kg) took the bronze to start her season on a high.
