Anamika had a strong passion for boxing and was introduced to the sport by her uncle. Although a softball player at the school level, it hasn’t been a tough transformation for the Haryana girl. Physical training and hard work being only second nature to Anamika, she grasped the craft of boxing with comfortable ease.

Establishing herself as a natural in the contact sport, she won her first medal in the 2016 Rural Games. But her rise to glory was when she won silver at the Asian Youth Boxing Championships in 2018 in Bangkok. She also won the gold medal at Youth National Championship in Rohtak in 2018.

In 2021, She won the gold medal at the Senior National Championship. Anamika impressed everyone with her performances at the 2022 Women’s World Championships held in Istanbul, Turkey. She was just a win away from a medal as she went down fighting against the Rio Olympic Bronze medallist Ingrit Valencia of Columbia in the quarter-final.

A self-believer and a self-rectifier, the young pugilist dreams of winning a World Championships and Olympic medal as she trains more than ever to achieve her dream.
