Graduating to the senior level from the youth stage isn’t easy but Akash Sangwan has done it with aplomb. His self-belief and fearlessness were visible for all at the Elite Men’s National Boxing Championships last year when he knocked out heavily favoured boxers to make his way to the final and take the 63kg silver.

Given the maturity the Services boxer showed on such a platform, one can expect him to quickly rise up the ranks in the seniors after a prolific youth career that gave him a Youth Nationals gold and a Khelo India gold among others medals.
