Nupur Sheoran Age- 27 Weight Category: +80kg (Women’s Heavyweight) Medals: Silver – World Boxing Championship 2025, Liverpool | Gold – World Boxing Cup, Astana 2025 National Titles: 5-time National Champion In 2025, Nupur Sheoran made her mark on the global stage by winning the silver medal in the +80kg category at the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool, just months after creating history with a gold medal at the World Boxing Cup in Astana, where she defeated Kazakhstan’s Yeldana Talipova in the final. Already a five-time national champion, Nupur has recently dominated the +80kg division at the 8th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships  a weight category where India has traditionally struggled to produce consistent winners. Boxing runs deep in her bloodline. Her father, Sanjay Kumar, is a former national champion and coach, while her grandfather is none other than Captain Hawa Singh, a two-time Asian Games gold medallist and one of India’s most celebrated boxing legends. Her journey has been one of quiet determination  from winning gold at the All India Inter-University Tournament in 2018, to gaining valuable international exposure at the Strandja Cup in 2019. Every step has added to her confidence, skill, and strength in the ring. With her eyes now set on the Olympics, Nupur represents the next wave of Indian boxing fearless, focused, and ready to take on the world in a category where India is finally beginning to rise.
