Simranjit & Sakshi in action on Day 2 as the women boxers begin quest for Tokyo Olympics
India’s women pugilists will begin their quest for a place at the Tokyo Olympics as former World Championships bronze medallist Simranjit Kaur (60kg) and Sakshi (57kg) will be in action on Day 2 of Asian/Oceanian Olympic Qualifiers in Amman, Jordan.
While Simranjit will take on Kazakhstan’s Rimma Volossenko, Sakshi will face Thailand’s fourth seed and Asian Games bronze medallist Nilawan Techasuep.
8 men and 5 women from India are in the hunt for a coveted Tokyo Olympic berth at this continental event, being conducted by the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Boxing Task Force.
