Manish Kaushik, at 23, is one of India’s most talented and promising boxers who has come from the stables of SAI, Bhiwani. A farmer’s son, whose only trade was working in the fields with his father, was inspired by Haryana’s boxing heroes, Vijender Singh especially, Jitender Singh and Dinesh Kumar.

Manish came into the spotlight at an early age of 18. He had already won enough national and international accolades before his crowning glory came at the 2017 Senior National championships when he conquered boxing celebrity and star, Shiva Thapa, the defending champion. Manish went on to prove that his victory over Shiva, who had moved from the 56kg category to 60kg, was no fluke and beat him again at the Indian Open International tournament last year.
